Not to be confused with Aussie synthpop act Alpine, this U.K. duo called Alpines has been lighting up the blogosphere with their electro-soul offering “Chances,” which has flavors of Florence + the Machine as well as early-’00s R&B like Alicia Keys and contemporary indie pop. Singer Catherine Pockson turns in a wonderful and emotive vocal performance, and the song projects an honest, soul-baring quality. Give it a listen below.
