Back in February we shared the video for California quintet The Neighbourhood‘s indie pop-rock song “Female Robbery,” and today I stumbled over a new stream and MP3 from the band over at Pigeons and Planes.
It’s called “Sweater Weather,” and much more of the single than the dark “Female Robbery.” The band speak-sing in the verses like The Script, harmonize tantalizingly in the choruses, and craft a sweet lovesong in the process: “It’s too cold/ For you here and now/ So let me hold/ Both your hands in the holes of my sweater.”
The band’s already picking up steam in Britain (that spelling of “neighborhood” must make people assume that they’re British, eh?) thanks to NME, and I think they’re deserving of the “About to Break” title, even if breaking into mainstream America will be much harder and probably take much longer. But you can get a head start by streaming and downloading the song below.
