About to Break: wonderful indie pop from KO KO, “Float” and two more [MP3]

I love the “eureka!” moment that I have whenever I find a new artist that I love.  KO KO created that latest moment with their three-song EP Float, and I knew I had to share them with y’all.  The L.A. indie pop band remind me strongly of Electric Guest, but with more pronounced edges.

This kind of indie pop is very popular right now, and I would be willing to put money on KO KO getting more and more attention over the next few years.  ”Float” is the obvious single, a whistle-friendly tune that is wonderfully sunny, but it’s B-sides “Intermission” and “So Strange” that show what KO KO are really capable of.

“Intermission” is a simple, elegant tune that sounds like KO KO mixed a little My Morning Jacket into their Electric Guest, while “So Strange” builds behind a stately organ into a warm, stoned summer.  Hear all three songs below, and download “Float” for free if you’d like.  I can’t wait for a full-length from these guys.
