AFI side project Blaqk Audio release another electro-goth tune, “Faith Healer”

When Davey Havok and Jade Puget (the lead singer and guitarist of AFI) formed Blaqk Audio in 2001, they meant it as a side project that would allow them to explore electronic music, which both enjoyed, outside of the confines of the band’s punk and alt. rock stylings.  But they were too busy with AFI to dedicate much time to it, finally resurrecting the project in 2006 and recording 2007′s CexCells, an underappreciated EBM/darktronica album that combined Davey’s talent for huge choruses and tense, beautiful Gothic lyrics with Jade’s ingenious programming.

Since then, fans of the project (like myself) have been waiting impatiently for a second release.  But Blaqk Audio have premiered new songs live, on the radio, on Soundcloud, and on movie and video game soundtracks while never announcing an actual album.  Well, now the duo have signed to Superball Music, and they’ll finally be releasing their sophomore effort, Bright Black Heaven, this fall.  In celebration of that, they gave away the song “Bliss” — which had been floating around the internet for over a year — for free back in June.

And now the band have released a brand-new track from Bright Black Heaven, entitled “Faith Healer.”  I like it as much as any of the other tracks we’ve heard from the release.  Check it out below.
