Afrolove: funky, jazzy Ethiopian bossa nova, Debo Band’s “And Lay” [MP3]

Wow.  I love the vibes on this track from Boston-by-way-of-Ethiopia group Debo Band, who utilize jazz, bossa nova, funk, and African rhythms but call themselves a “pop band.”  ”And Lay” is a new instrumental from the group, led by Danny Mekonnen, featuring some kickass horns and a theme you aren’t likely to forget.  Stream and download for free below, and also check out their recent song “Asha Gedawo” MP3, which features the vocals of talented Ethiopian-American Bruck Tesfaye.
