We last heard from ANGO, a.k.a. Montreal’s [AN]drew [GO]rdon MacPherson, on last November’s “Better for You,” a warm synthpop tune that I was surprised to find I couldn’t put down.
Now ANGO is back, alongside producer Jacques Greene, on a collaborative cover of Sade‘s classic 1992 R&B/soul/soft rock hit “No Ordinary Love.” The duo warp it into a seven-minute sparse electronic track that never gets boring and somehow nearly equals the original’s lonely, despondent heartache.
I’ve been listening to the original all of my life, so for the next 25 years I’ll only listen to this one. Download it below.
