Brooklyn trio Basement Batman call themselves “dirt pop,” and when we introduced them to The Tune with the song “Chemistry” back in April, we warned you that “If discernible lyrics and singalong songs are your thing, you’ll probably hate this. If fun grooves are your thing, listen and download below.” Dirty pop? Most definitely.
But that’s not the case on the band’s new single off of their debut album Season 1, released today. ”On a Streak” is a ridiculously catchy pop-rock track that feels right on sidewalks and asphalt, not out in nature — but that’s the only way it’s “dirty.” Otherwise, this is just fun indie pop.
