The reunited Ben Folds Five, a band I loved way back when, will release their first album since 1999′s memorable The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner on September 18. It’s called The Sound of the Life of the Mind, and we’ve already heard a demo of the rambunctious, agile “Do It Anyway.”
Now the band have premiered another track over at Spin. It’s a much more organized effort, moving through jaunty piano, weird musical-style backup vocals, and a handful of instrumental interludes over 5:15. I’m not sure if I like it, though — but maybe that’s just because it’s a breakup song and I don’t need one of those. What do you think, BFF fans?
