Cat Power’s busy, anthemic, eagle-eyed indie rock song “Cherokee”

Atlanta native and indie/alt-rock artist Cat Power (whom I have a crush on thanks to the picture above) has been releasing albums since 1995, but we haven’t heard anything new from the singer-songwriter and her band since 2006′s The Greatest.  However, she returns on September 4 with a new album called Sun, and we heard the compelling first single “Ruin” a few days ago.

Now another tune from the album has appeared on the internet, the busy and anthemic “Cheroke,” which comes complete with an eagle scream after the line “Marry me to the sky.”  You’ve gotta hear this one.  Thanks to My Blog Cliché for the stream.
