I don’t quite know how to describe this wonderfully different neo-folk song, so here’s the grammatically messy press release, whose clumsy handling of words contrasts strongly to the talented lyricism of “Shark in the Shallows”:
James Canty is a dangerously folk hop DIY hybrid, a troubadour straight out of Essex. Thrashing guitars to Double bass heavy back beat, medieval mandolins, Lyrically woven strings of rhyme into haunting stories of love and hate stretched to a modern backdrop.
