In January, Brooklyn-via-Australia folk trio High Highs will release their debut album via Sir Elton John’s Rocket Records. The lead single, “Once Around the House,” is a stunningly gorgeous neo-folk song that crescendos over nearly 4 minutes into a soul-swelling yet intimate conclusion. It sounds very, very much like Fleet Foxes, but is somehow even more lush and lovely. As the band name suggests, it seems like it’d be best when quite high, whether that be on a mountain or on nature’s most wonderful weed.
