Last time I heard from Brooklyn-based songwriter Joseph Arthur was on a dream-pop cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” back in October 2011, and then I somehow missed his single “Travel as Equals,” which made it all the way to a Letterman performance early this year.
On “Travel as Equals,” Arthur talk-sings united-we-are-one lyrics in the verse and then breaks out for a stomping, “give it up to your destiny” chorus. The song as a whole could be the baby brother of Talking Heads‘ “Once in a Lifetime.” If you too missed the tune when it came out, don’t worry — we’ve got a stream and a free download below. Enjoy!
