Metallurgy: rock out to Grendyl’s frantic, menacing “Abduction” [MP3]

The Tune’s metal section is severely under-represented currently, as I don’t listen to nearly as much metal as I used to, but today I’ve got a great new song for y’all.  ”Abduction” is a six-minute slice of menacing metal, featuring growled vocals that sound like Nightmare Before Christmas becoming an actual nightmare.  The frantic guitar work is astounding, and the song certainly justifies the name Grendyl — which is an alias for Colorado musician John Coleman, who wrote and performed the entire track.  And you know what’s cool?  I know this guy.  I even had a class with him a few years back.  So yeah, this is great stuff.  Listen and download below, and check out Grendyl’s Facebook page over this way.
