Muse release first official single from The 2nd Law, the stuttering “Madness”

Although we’ve already heard two tracks from Muse‘s forthcoming album The 2nd Law – the ridiculous dubstep-via-guitars tune “Unsustainable” and the operatic Olympics theme “Survival” — this is the first ‘official’ single.  ”Madness” goes in a yet another direction, incorporating electronic elements, a stuttering vocal hook (“M-m-m-m-ma-ma-ma…”), an all-too-short guitar solo, and a hypnotizing crescendo.  Muse never fail to surprise and impress me.
