RCRD LBL writes that New York art-pop outfit Psychobuildings‘ new single “Baby Cops” “will put to rest” comparisons to Talking Heads, but as I’ve been listening to Talking Heads nonstop for the last few days, I’d tend to disagree with that. The funky groove, vocal stylings, and switchback electronics all echo the iconic New Wave band. But Psychobuildings make the sound their own, freshening it up for the new millennium and making it as dynamic and sexy as Talking Heads’ late-career singles. I, for one, love it.
