Norah Jones’ cello and timid-guitar meditation on breaking up: “Travelin’ On”

Norah Jones seems to have turned a new leaf on her upcoming Danger Mouse-produced LP, May 1′s Little Broken Hearts.  Her recent grooving, upbeat single “Happy Pills” got many repeat plays from me, and now she’s got another new one, the cello and timid-guitar meditation “Travelin’ On.”

Evidently Little Broken Hearts is a break-up album, and I’m starting to see that more and more clearly.  Jones delivers mature lines like “I’ll be okay, because we won’t leave this place any worse than when we came” with such genuine melancholia that I’m starting to think this will be the first Norah Jones album I actually enjoy all the way through.  What do you think?  Listen below.
