Song of the Day: Elia and the Low Tears’ catchy, sweet lovesong “Violins”

Back in February I introduced you to Elia and the Low Tears and their joyful, jumpy alt-soul jam “Perfect Circles,” which has since become one of my favorite songs of 2012.  I highly recommend giving it a listen, but before you head over that way, lend an ear to Elia and the Low Tears’ newest, an electropop lovesong that draws upon soul as well as classic pop.

“Violins” is charismatic and sweet, featuring a chorus that uses internal symphonies as a metaphor for infatuation: “I have violins/ I have violins when I look at you/ I have sweeping strings/ I have violins and cellos too.”  It’s fantastically catchy, and if you’re looking to discover a great new band today, look no further.  Elia and the Low Tears are here for your pleasure.
