Song of the Day: General Fiasco’s visceral, anthemic rock – “Bad Habits”

Northern Ireland indie/alt-rockers General Fiasco will release their sophomore effort, Unfaithfully Yours, on July 30.  They’ve already dropped a few tracks that are presumed to be on the release, including “Waves,” “The Age That You Start Losing Friends,” and “Don’t You Ever.”

But the new song, “Bad Habits,” is easily the best tune I’ve ever heard from General Fiasco.  Featuring a crunching, guttural wall of guitars, the song still doesn’t shy away from its fist-pumping, falsetto-sprinkled chorus, which is as anthemic as an arena-rock song but is closer to hard rock in the way that it affects the listener on a visceral level.  Look for this one on the Top 100 songs of 2012 — and listen below.
