Peter & the Magician, the electronic/dance duo of French producer Yuksek and Belgian DJ/producer The Magician, released their debut EP, Twist, last June and have now announced a second EP, Memory, for July 9. The title track introduces itself with a two-chord riff that twists and builds for over a minute, adding stomping synths and then exploding into an exquisite dance track with a Euro core.
I’m not posting this for the lyrics, certainly; neither am I posting it for the melody, which is derivative of pop and electronic artists from many points in the preceding decades. But like Eric Prydz‘s “Pjanoo,” it transcends the need for such trivialities by constructing a tune that’s sure to make you move, both inside and out. Listen below — and don’t you dare do it on laptop speakers. This track begs for a huge, loud sound system. Enjoy!
