Brian Fallon, leader of one of our favorite rock bands, The Gaslight Anthem, played a live acoustic set at this year’s Lowlands Festival. You can watch a video of all six tracks below, including acoustic versions of The Gaslight Anthem’s “45,” “1930,” “Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts,” “National Anthem,” and “Mae” — and best of all, right smack in the middle of the setlist, a cover of Brand New‘s 2006 masterpiece “Sowing Season (Yeah).” Fallon adds panache and a country twang to the song, substituting acoustic strumming for the soul-slicing electric riff on the chorus and groaning the “yeah”s like he’s in bed with his lover.
